Hi, my name is Sophia. I’m one of the Medical Aestheticians at our Baton Rouge location, and I’m here to talk about some of my favorite skincare products and my own personal skincare routine. First thing in the morning, my favorite product to use A.M. is Exfoliating Polish by ZO. That’s because it buffs away all of the dead skin turnover that happens during the night. And it has hydrators, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and hydrating ingredients that make your skin glow throughout the day. Next, I do Restorative Skin Complex by ALASTIN. That is my daily antioxidant. It’s gonna help repair my skin barrier. It has antioxidants to protect against free radicals throughout the day, as well as hydrating ingredients, and it’s a great base for my sunscreen. Which leads me to my favorite sunscreen product, which is HydraTint by ALASTIN. It is a tinted SPF, and it acts as my sunscreen, so it’s hydrating. I use it on my face and my neck, and it kind of acts as my makeup. People always ask me what makeup I’m wearing. It’s HydraTint, it’s amazing. And so for my evening routine, I always start with a double cleanse. A double cleanse, what does that mean? First, I go in with the ZO Gentle Cleanser. This is a very gentle, refreshing cleanser to kind of dissolve all the makeup, sunscreen, and oil and debris from throughout the day. Second, I rinse this off and I go in with the new SkinMedica Pore Purifying Cleanser for a little bit of a deeper clean of my pores. This cleanser has a little bit of salicylic acid, so it helps with excess oil. And then it also has aloe and calming ingredients in it too, to help my skin feel nice and refreshed. So after I tone and my skin is nice and balanced, my first step is eye cream. My favorite is SkinMedica’s Instant Bright because I personally struggle with dark circles. My fourth step, which is probably the most important one, I alternate between two different ZO products. One is Retinol Skin Brightener 0.25, the other is Brightalive. So these target my main concern, which is pigmentation. I alternate between these two, because Retinol Skin Brightener is gonna stimulate cell turnover, while also brightening the skin. But to give my skin a break from retinol every other night, Brightalive is gonna really hydrate me, while also suppressing that pigment. And finally, I finish with ALASTIN’s Ultra Light Moisturizer, if I’m feeling a little dry and I need some extra hydration, because it helps me to wake up in the morning with a nice glowing complexion. I always get asked about my own personal skincare routine, and I love sharing it with people, because obviously I love to talk about my skincare, but one of my favorite things about medical grade skincare is that it’s so customizable to each individual patient. And so I love educating patients on how these ingre
