How Is a Brazilian Butt Lift Performed?
A Brazilian butt lift is performed at Weiler Plastic Surgery on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. Patients will need someone to drive them home after the surgery and have someone stay with them for a day or two after surgery. A compression garment is applied after and should be worn for four to six weeks.
Surgical techniques for this procedure vary among physicians. Our board-certified plastic surgeons focus on contouring the waistline using 360 Liposuction to achieve an hourglass shape.* Once the fat is removed, it is then processed and re-injected to the buttock through small incisions. Patients can expect to maintain an average of 75% of the amount injected. Patients who may benefit from this procedure range from those looking to fill in areas of dimpling and restore volume, to those wanting to greatly increase volume and projection for a more dramatic enhancement.*
Incision Placement
Your surgeon will make a series of small incisions where the liposuction and fat injection will be performed. All incisions are made in areas that hide well under swimsuits and clothing.

The Consultation Process
One of our board-certified plastic surgeons and their office staff will make your surgical experience as easy and as comfortable as possible. You will discuss your areas of concern and goals for a Brazilian butt lift surgery. Upon examination, your surgeon will physically examine your abdominal area, checking the muscle tone, skin, and excess fat deposits. Your surgeon will recommend the most effective procedure and alternatives that will meet and exceed your expressed goals.* Feel free to take as much time as you need to have your surgeon answer your questions. Your satisfaction, desires, and goals are our primary concern.

What to Expect After Surgery
We like to see our patients back in the office one to two days after surgery. At this time dressings are removed and surgical sites are assessed. You may shower after your first follow-up visit, but must wear the compression garment while showering for the first week following surgery. You should expect some swelling and bruising initially which will subside over the coming weeks. Your buttocks will feel slightly firm in the days following your procedure, and over time will soften to its final result. Walking around after surgery is very important to promote circulation. At your one-week follow-up liposuction sutures are removed, additionally, at this time concerns are addressed and further instructions are reviewed for optimal recovery. You will return to the office again in two to three weeks for additional follow-up visits.

Post-Op Activity Restrictions
Following the Brazilian butt lift surgery, patients are asked to refrain from sitting on their buttocks for the first five to seven days and will remain in a compression garment for four to six weeks. One week following your procedure you will be asked to begin squats and lunges to enhance projection and fat retention to your buttock. Recovery from a Brazilian butt lift is variable, however, most patients are able to return to work within seven to ten days and are back to normal activities within two to three weeks.*
