Incision Placement
Your surgeon performs a brow lift by making 2 to 3 small incisions placed inconspicuously in the hairline. These sutures are typically removed within 7 to 10 days.
Your Surgical Experience
Brow lift procedures are performed at Weiler Plastic Surgery under local or general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Patients will need someone to drive them home after the surgery and have someone stay with them for a day or two after surgery. All current medications you are taking will be reviewed at your preoperative appointment and we will inform you if anything you are taking needs to be stopped prior to surgery.
The Consultation Process
Our board-certified plastic surgeons, along with their office staff, will assist in making your surgical experience as easy and comfortable as possible. You will be able to discuss your areas of concerns and goals for your brow lift. A physical exam will be performed to assess your brow region and forehead. You will be given a recommendation for the most effective procedure to meet and exceed your expressed goals, as well as alternative treatment options.* At Weiler Plastic Surgery, we like for you to take as much time as you need to have all of your questions answered. Your satisfaction, desires, and goals are our primary concern.
What to Expect After Surgery
We ask patients to ensure that they keep their head elevated for three to five days to help with swelling. Bruising and some swelling around the eyes is normal after this procedure. This usually resolves within the first few weeks following surgery. All of the sutures are removed between seven to ten days. Pain is controlled with oral medication to keep patients comfortable following surgery. You will return to the office within 24-hours post-surgery and return again on days seven and 14 for your follow-up visits.
Post-Op Activity Restrictions
Patient recovery after brow lift procedures are variable, but most patients are able to return to work within three to five days and are back to normal activities within two weeks.* We ask our patients to sleep elevated on a few pillows for the first week to reduce swelling. No heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for the first two to three weeks following surgery is allowed.
