Before the Procedure
Often times, a topical numbing medication is applied for approximately 20 minutes to the areas that will be injected to allow for a more comfortable experience during the procedure. Dr. Weiler’s Physician Assistants, and the staff at Weiler Plastic Surgery, will do everything possible to make your time with us easy and comfortable.
The Procedure
Your health care provider will carefully place the Restylane® under your skin to smooth lines, brighten the under-eye area, and naturally enhance lips.* Following the injection, they may gently massage the treated areas. Your provider will provide an ice pack after the procedure is complete to help reduce any swelling or pain. The injection itself usually takes only about 15 minutes.
After the Procedure
Immediately following injections, it is best to avoid strenuous exercise or alcohol. You may use ice to help minimize bruising or swelling. In addition, your health care provider can discuss topical or oral products to help reduce downtime.
Results
You will be able to notice the results right away.* Only one treatment is typically needed to achieve improvement, and the results can last for six to 18 months.
