If you are searching for a minimally invasive, versatile facial treatment that can improve a variety of skin concerns, a chemical peel could be right for you. You can personalize your chemical peel treatment at Weiler Plastic Surgery based on your specific skin concerns and skin type.
We offer a wide range of chemical peel options for Baton Rouge and New Orleans men and women looking for speedy and effective facial rejuvenation.
Listed below are some of our stellar chemical peel options that can improve melasma, sun damage, rough skin texture, and more.
This superficial skin-lightening peel treats melasma and other skin discoloration that may be caused by hormones, sun exposure, or genetics. It also improves skin texture and tone. This mild peel does not burn or sting while it is on the skin. It may make the skin feel tight, and cause redness and peeling like a sunburn during the week after treatment.
The Perfect Derma Peel
This peel is our newest chemical peel that utilizes a unique anti-aging ingredient called Glutathione, an antioxidant known to prevent damage to important cellular components caused by free radicals and peroxides.* The Perfect Derma is the only skin resurfacing peel that uses this ingredient to help repair and nourish the skin, improving hyperpigmentation, lifting melasma, diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, eliminating and preventing acne and acne marks, refining pores, and giving the skin a radiant glow.* We also offer boosters for more intense treatment and more dramatic results.

ZO® Skin Health 3-Step Peel™
Ideal for treating acne, sun damage, and signs of aging, this peel combines an in-office peel with at-home treatments to transform your skin for the better. Your in-office treatment includes a peel containing salicylic acid, lactic acid, and TCA, which exfoliates away the outer layer of your skin. The next step is a retinol crème and calming crème that work together to maximize cell turnover while minimizing irritation. At home, you’ll continue using the retinol crème and calming crème for ongoing improvement.
SkinMedica Illuminize Peel
This peel is a medical-grade chemical peel that immediately delivers a “glow” to the skin without any skin peeling or downtime. This mild peel exfoliates dead skin cells similar to microdermabrasion treatments. It is ideal for individuals who would like something more invasive than a facial without any downtime of a full chemical peel.
SkinMedica Vitalize Peel
The peel is our most popular peel and for good reason. It exfoliates dead skin, resulting in less acne, less acne scarring, fewer brown spots, and less sun damage.* Two days after the peel is applied, the skin starts to shed from the chin up to the forehead for a duration of about two to three days. If you want to peel during the weekend, we suggest receiving this peel on a Wednesday evening. Chemical peels are an ideal option to help rejuvenate your skin and let new skin layers come to the surface. After a chemical peel, your skin will feel smoother and have a refreshed look to it. In fact, you’ll probably glow.
SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel
This peel is the strongest of the three peel options from SkinMedica. It is ideal for those who have already had other peels and are now tolerant to medical-grade peels. These individuals are now seeing less shedding of dead skin when other chemical peels are performed. This peel may result in some mild redness and an increase of skin peeling two days after it is applied. The duration usually lasts about three to four days.
PRX Derm Perfexion
Previously branded PRX-T33, this game-changing skin rejuvenation procedure treats a range of common concerns for patients looking for immediate results without downtime or discomfort. Often confused with chemical peels because one of its active ingredients is trichloroacetic acid (TCA), PRX Derm Perfexion works at a deeper level than peels, firming the skin, improving its texture, and minimizing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, stretch marks, and depressed scars. The revolutionary treatment can be used for all skin types without worrying about hyperpigmentation.
How Does PRX Derm Perfexion Work?
Instead of laying on the skin’s surface as a chemical peel would, the treatment’s TCA penetrates to the dermis—the skin’s middle layer—encased by hydrogen peroxide. The dermal layer’s inflammatory response to hydrogen peroxide stimulates cell turnover and fibroblasts, triggering the production of new collagen and elastin.
You can enhance the results by combining PRX Derm Perfexion with other popular skin rejuvenation treatments, such as microneedling.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
When used for facial rejuvenation, we recommend a series of 4 treatments, scheduled a week apart. Treatments targeting areas of the body may require more than 4 treatments.
The results last an average of 6 months, depending on the concerns addressed and the area treated. Because treatments don’t cause the skin to become more sensitive to the sun, you can schedule PRX Derm Perfexion procedures throughout the year, including the summer.
