ellacor® Micro-Coring

These innovative procedures use micro-coring to remove thousands of pinpoint columns of skin, causing the skin to renew and remodel itself. With just 1 to 3 procedures and a few days of downtime, ellacor can help you have noticeably smoother, tighter, and firmer skin without the risk of scarring.
What Is ellacor Micro-Coring?
Ellacor is an innovative, FDA-cleared skin rejuvenation procedure for moderate to severe wrinkles in the mid to lower face. Its unique Micro-Coring™ Technology uses hollow microneedles to puncture tiny columns of skin to a depth of up to 5 cm and suction them away. As each column is removed, the skin quickly realigns to close the tiny openings. The punctures increase collagen production as a healing response and are so small they do not produce scars.
How It Works
Many skin rejuvenation procedures treat skin laxity and wrinkles by triggering the body’s natural healing process. Ellacor does so in a unique way. Here are some comparisons:
- Similar to fractional lasers, ellacor removes tiny micro-columns of skin; however, with ellacor, there is no risk of burns because it does not use thermal energy (heat).
- Like microneedling, ellacor punctures the skin to boost collagen production; however, instead of temporarily displacing the skin cells like microneedling, ellacor removes the tiny columns of skin for instant remodeling within the skin. The punctures are so small that they don’t create scars.
- Like fractional lasers and microneedling, ellacor impacts only a fraction of the tissue in each treated area for faster healing and quick recovery.

Benefits
Cleared by the FDA for use on the lower cheeks, around the mouth, and under the chin, ellacor provides the following benefits:

Because ellacor doesn’t tighten the underlying facial muscles or fascia, it does not take the place of a surgical facelift.
How Are ellacor Procedures Performed?
Our providers perform ellacor procedures by first numbing the targeted areas using a local anesthetic. Next, as the provider places the automated ellacor handpiece on the skin, it rapidly punctures and cores a 10×10 mm square area. The provider moves the procedure head to the adjacent area until the procedure is complete, which takes about 30 minutes. After the skin is gently cleansed and soothing serum is applied, you are free to return home.
Most patients need 2 to 3 procedures spaced 1 month apart for optimal results.
Recovery
After an ellacor procedure, initial swelling, redness, and bruising are normal. You will need to cover the skin with a protective ointment for 24 to 48 hours and avoid makeup for about 4 to 7 days. Most patients are ready to go in public and return to work in about 3 to 5days.
How Long Does It Take To See Results
Patients often begin to see improvement within a few weeks of their first procedure. The skin gradually becomes firmer and smoother over the following 3 to 6 months as collagen develops and the micro-columns heal completely.
